Autel MaxiScan MS310 Code Reader

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Code Reader Great OBDII scanner for a great price.
Pros:

-nice backlit screen with plenty of information (in contrast to lesser screens that can only display a 4 digit #)
-compact (easy to store in car)
-bright red color makes easy to find
-actually works with vehicles manufactured after 2000
-reads additional "readiness" codes and temperature/rpm/etc
-just 2 buttons, makes pressing the wrong button difficult (a good thing)
-low price

Cons:
-button "feel" could be improved a teeny weeny bit

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Code Reader great little tool!
Terrific datalogger/analyzer and code reader/eraser. Has already saved me hundreds of dollars from perceived repair bills. I wished I'd bought it sooner as it's so easy to use. It retrieves data quickly and the display is easy to view. If you don't already have one of these, get one you won't regret it. Thanks Amazon!

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Code Reader Live data is nice!
I chose this unit because it displays live data for troubleshooting a temperature sensor. Perfect!

I was disappointed that the unit would not read codes from two vehicles (a Saturn and a Toyota), and I even contacted the manufacturer. I got a quick response -- Thanks, Caroline! She was nice to me when I eventually apologized: The indicator lights in the vehicles were not "check engine" lights, they were stupid service reminder lights! Now, I just need to find out the tricks to resetting them: stand on one foot, wink three times with the key in run, or is it stick my tongue out four times with the key in accessory? Dang, the light is still on!

It is a good deal; go for it!

Autel MS310 Great help, even for amateurs.
Fortunately I have not had to use it just twice, so this review is not perfect, but even in these cases -because it worked very well- saved time and money. In case you are more than amateur, the saving can be even higher. Just get the necessary parts -if you need any at all- and do it yourself after this code reader -beside the code number- tells you what the problem is. After the problem solved, you can even reset the check engine light yourself.

Autel MS310 Works Great
Works great for troubleshooting a check engine light. It costs less than having a dealership scan your car once and also saves a trip to go get your car scanned for free at any of the auto parts stores that offer it. The descriptions it gives for each code also help.

You can clear codes and also view live data from the CPU while the car is running.

MaxiScan MS310 Great Device.
its amazing how much information this thing is capable of giving. I thought it would only give fault codes but the freeze frame data at time of fault and the live data from each sensor is extremely helpful when trying to troubleshoot difficult problems.

MaxiScan MS310 Best Price
easy to use. Menus are a little hard to navigate through. Gives you online data. I used it on a older model so the computer didn't display much data. It is able to reset service codes. I originally bought to reset the service light but thats not what these units are for. to reset service light do a internet search (typically odometer brake pedal and ignition in postion 2). Liked the unit can't beat the price

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Reviews

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Works perfectly
I am a automotive shop manager. We have 50k-75k in scanners..This little one connects to all 96-newer. Gives live data, monitor status, and code description on the screen very quickly. Not a full diagnostic scanner for a professional, but you will spend 3k-9k for one of those. It is perfect for a DIY or just another time saving tool for the professional.

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Cool device, may not be full featured but does what I want.
I'm told that the more expensive readers can give you real time readouts and diagnose as you drive but that's not what I need. I wanted to be able to get the code, erase the code, and see if the code came back. Before purchase of this, the check engine light came on and I took the car to the dealer where they promptly charged me $75 to tell me that they erased the code and shouldn't do anything to repair the underlying problem unless it keeps reoccurring. Diagnosing and fixing the evaporative system would be time-consuming and expensive since the code indicates a general problem. Well, a month after the code was erased, it came back again. That's when I decided to buy this code reader (cheaper than the dealer charge) and erase it myself. The code has not recurred now for half a year. This could have been a cold weather problem where a part was frozen or sticking and not a wholesale failure of a component. I don't know but I feel I saved myself big money. Why didn't I just go to an auto parts superstore and use their code reader for free? Well, I live in the middle of nowhere and I didn't want to have to make long trips, and I'm not sure they would have erased the code for me if I did. This is an expensive, well made, and easy to use device.

Autel MaxiScan MS310 BEST TOOL EVER!!!
THIS OBDII SCANNER IS A WONDERFUL DEAL, HAS FEATURES THAT $100+ SOMETIMES DONT HAVE, FAST SHIPPING, GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH SELLER, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Autel MaxiScan MS310 Shipped promptly & works well
The product was shipped promptly - arriving ahead of Amazon's estimated delivery window. It works well and has features such as freeze frame, text explanation of DTC codes, and live monitoring which I've previously only seen in units costing three to four times as much.

I was concerned that having only two buttons would make it difficult to navigate. It's slightly slower to have to scroll down four or six times instead of up one but in practice it did not slow things down much at all.

Autel MS310 WORKS GREAT
I received this on a Friday, hooked it up and found the problem right away. I was able to fix my non starting vehicle with the code provided to me. Otherwise I would have needed a tow, and the repairs I did would have cost me about $700.00 just in labor. I would buy again, and may need to since my friends have been borrowing it!

 Autel MS310 a must have
great product for road kit. very sturdy and easy to use. a must have for anyone who has had the scary " engine light" come on. lets you know right away if it's serious or not. i purchased for some peace of mind before going on a long road trip. love it

Autel MS310 is a nice tool !
Just got it today Autel 310, and checked my uncles car cause he had check engine light On for long time now.
Erased all codes, and Now check engine light is OFF.
very simple tool to use, i mean a 5 year old can use it.
Very small, very light, connects right a way.
It does not have batteries so it will turn On when you connect it to your car.
Back light is very nice !
overall Nice tool to have instead of going to mechanic shop pay twice the price and waist you time waiting.

Autel AULMS310  Well worth the money after one use!
I hooked this to my 99 Volvo immediately after receiving it in the mail today. I was able to retrieve an accurate code within five minutes of opening the package. It is so easy. I went ahead and wrote down the code, and then erased it since I hate seeing the dreadful Check Engine light on my dashboard. I cranked the car up, an no more light. This would have cost me around 50 bucks at a shop, more than what I paid for this model. If it happens again, I have made my money back on it that easy. I found a great link that has a list of where to find your car's DLC location (where to hook up the MaxiScan to your car). I needed this to find mine.

Autel AULMS310 Great cheap little generic scanner
I'm very impressed with this little Chinese made scanner for the price. I use it for state inspection IM checks and the quick stuff. It is really fast and saves me time. It certainly does not have all the capabilities of a dealer level scan tool or even a professional level aftermarket scan tool like auto-enginuity but it certainly has it's place. I like it better than 3 other cheap scanners that I have used in the past year. My only gripe so far is that the cord is pretty short but it is workable. I'm an ASE Master auto tech, buy this scanner and don't look back.

Autel AULMS310 Surprise!!!
I was expecting some cheap code reader/clearing device and not much more. This thing not only does the code reader stuff but also gives a lot more info. Live data, stats, and also manufacturer specific code interpretation. Got a MAF or O2 sensor code, go ahead and see if the sensor is dead or alive by using the live data function. I have paid 20 times the cost of this unit for a tool with the same capabilities in the past.

The only drawbacks are the two buttons. If you pass up your choice on the menu you will have to waste time scrolling all the way to the bottom of the list and back down again to your choice. This is the best tool for the money I have seen. The next step up from here would be a full blown scanner costing some real money. I am a fleet tech for a large company here in Chicago. This thing does what I need.

Autel (AULMS310) MaxiScan MS310 GREAT little product - SO easy to use, just plug it in!
This code reader is an absolute bargain ... for the money, it does a fantastic job. Actually, for the shade-tree-mechanic (weekend warrior) type such as myself, I really can't imagine any additional features that I could use or want at any price. The unit plugs right in and does the job ... it even tells you when you should or shouldn't turn the vehicle on. The menus are SO easy to use, and the menus / codes / displays are very easy to read and understand. You won't even need the manual, nor will you have to go look up code definitions on the Internet ... if your service engine light is on, this WILL tell you what is wrong. And even better, it allows the user to reset trouble codes. It even comes with a USB cable, although I don't think I'll ever need it (not for this product anyway). No batteries are required; it runs off the vehicle's power once it is plugged in.

Nearly all modern vehicles use a standard plug / interface, so this unit should be compatible with just about anything made in 1996 or later. FYI, I am using it with a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer.

In summary, if you have a service engine light on in your car and you want to figure out what is going on without the hassel of taking it to a repair shop, then spend the money for this unit - not much money to pay for at least being informed, and possibly saving yourself huge $s down the line.

UPDATE - I managed to get in a fairly significant accident with my vehicle, which unfortunately bashed in the front end. My Trailblazer was driveable, but the service engine light came on. When I got home, in the dark I plugged in the scanner. Presto, I found that it even has a backlight, which makes reading the display in the dark a cinch! It also told me I had a problem with the radiator fan, which was great info and basically meant I could keep driving the vehicle, but would need to keep an eye on the temp. And it gave me some good info in advance when dealing with insurance and repair places. Again, super highly recommended!

Autel (AULMS310) MaxiScan MS310 Excellent product!
I got this for 45 dollars on impulse and I love it. I used it to clear some codes and plugged it into a 07 scion tc for live sensor data and clear out the computer after a repair. The seller was real cool with answering my questions and I would recommend this to a friend.
